Our goal was to design a sanctuary to heal patients by alleviating stress, providing a positive work environment, and fostering openness to therapy treatments. One of the behavioral treatments we researched involves play. This concept gives rise to a distinct identity that challenges negative stereotypes associated with clinics and therapy treatments. Therapeutic elements are subtly integrated into the playful design of this architecture. We were particularly interested in incorporating the use of a sand tray, which allows patients to explore and rediscover hidden objects, unveiling their struggles through interactive engagement.
